Al Rahma Mosque, also known as the ‘Floating Mosque’ is located in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and is one of the few mosques built on the water.
The Mosque is constructed on the coast of the Red Sea and its foundations are built under the seawater.
The interior design is well constructed along with the exterior. Standing by the rail gives you a unique and worthy experience of looking into the sea.
According to Wikipedia, the Mosque was built in 1974 and is able to accommodate around 2500 persons at a time.
The interior of the Al Rahma Mosque mosque is designed beautifully and gives a unique sense of calmness and satisfaction with its quietness as you enter the mosque.
The mosque also receives a lot of new visitors each day including some of the Umrah groups.
From the city center, it’s just at a distance of approximately 20kms using Google Maps. It is a worthwhile experience of visiting a mosque of this kind.
